New Restrictions To travel on waiting tickets

Travel only in general coaches: I would like to inform you before you travel that the new India Railways rules. Now waiting ticket holders can travel only in general (unreserved) coaches. Travel in reservation and AC coaches will not be allowed with Waiting ticket. If you are thinking to travel with waiting tickets you can only travel in general Coaches. if you are catches in AC/ Sleeper coaches with Waiting ticket Than you Will pay the Penalty According to Indian Railways new guidelines. Fines and Penalties: If a passenger travels in reservation or AC coach with a waiting ticket, he/she will have to pay a fine and will be debearded at the next station. 

Fine Amount Indian Railway New Guidelines 2025

  • Travelling in AC coach: ₹440 fine + fare till next station.
  • Travelling in sleeper coach: ₹250 fine + fare till next station.

Ticket Booking and Refund Policy

  • Booking Period: Waiting tickets can now be booked 60 days in advance.
  • Refund Policy: Refund will be given only if the train is cancelled or delayed by more than 3 hours.

  • Indian Railways will now allocate seats using AI technology, making the booking process faster and accurate.
