RRB ALP & Technician 2025: Selection Process Overview
- CBT 1 (Computer Based Test – Stage 1)
- CBT 2 (Computer Based Test – Stage 2)
- CBAT (Only for ALP – Computer-Based Aptitude Test)
- Document Verification
Stage 1: CBT 1 Exam Pattern (Common for ALP & Technician)

Stage 2: CBT 2 Exam Pattern
Part A (Merit-Deciding)
- 100 Questions
- 90 Minutes Duration
- Subjects: Mathematics, Reasoning, General Science, Basic Engineering & Environment
- Negative marking: 1/3 per wrong answer
Part B (Trade Specific)
- 75 Questions
- 60 Minutes Duration
- Minimum 35% required to qualify
Stage 3: CBAT (Only for ALP)
- Computer-Based Aptitude Test for ALP post only
- No negative marking
- Final merit = 70% from CBT 2 + 30% from CBAT
Stage 4: Document Verification
Qualified candidates will go through document verification and a medical test. Make sure to carry all certificates, IDs, and originals during the process.
